Syrian troops backed by heavy airstrikes and artillery took more ground today as the army continues the encirclement of Aleppo.
Sources said that the army and its allies took around 95% of buildings in al-Lairamoun industrial zone, as a group of about 50 militants continue to hide-out – their supply line cut-off from the Northern Aleppo countryside up to the border with Turkey.
The latest seizure of territory brings the army closer to re-opening the road connecting al-Lairamoun industrial area to a recreational complex situated along the Castillo road – seized by the Tiger Forces this week.

Militant groups being targeted in the recent offensive include al-Qaeda affiliated Jabhat al-Nusra, western-backed Ahrar al-Sham and the notorious FSA-group, Harakat Nour al-Din al-Zenki – who captured and beheaded a teenage boy earlier this month.
Sources say the General Command of the Army and Armed Forces sent a mass text message to residents in the area, notifying them of the establishment of safe passages for evacuation and shelters for the displaced.
